Yolo County is located between the San Francisco Bay Area and the state capital of Sacramento. An agriculturally rich area, Yolo County is host to the University of California at Davis, and a number of other attractive and interesting visitor destination sites.

The Yolo County Visitors Bureau promotes travel and tourism within Yolo County and the cities of Davis, Winters and Woodland. As a tourism bureau, the YCVB’s primary task is to market the Yolo County area and its amenities as preferred destinations for travelers within the Sacramento region, the Bay Area and California.

In addition to such established stops as the University of California at Davis which boasts over half a million visitors per year, the YCVB encourages tourists to explore the richness and diversity of Yolo County including its thriving ranches, farms and roadside stands, its many historical landmarks, and the rugged beauty of its natural features.

The area is an emerging showcase for ag-tourism, enviro-tourism, and for cutting-edge-sporting-events including the AMGEN Bicycle Tour, UC Davis intercollegiate athletic competitions, and a wide variety of youth sporting tournaments. Heritage and history also play an important role due to the presence of a variety of museums offering exhibits on everything from tractors and early Central Valley history to the potential for a national bicycle museum in Davis.

The YCVB provides a full range of informational services to tourists and event planners, through its website (www.yolocvb.org), a series of informative brochures and publications, and a one-stop-shop consultation service for event planners. The organization also works closely with local governments and communities in marketing and supporting visitor attractions and in publicizing local events and festivals.

In addition, YCVB maintains an active presence at tradeshows throughout the state. The bureau also plays an active leadership role in the California Travel and Tourism Commission and the Central Valley Tourism Association.
